Mississippi Disaster Recovery Centers Change Hours, Days

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The disaster recovery centers open in Hattiesburg and Petal in Forrest County are changing their hours of operation, effective Monday, Feb. 13.

The centers remain open daily from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. through Friday, Feb. 10. On Saturday, Feb. 11, the centers’ hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Beginning Feb. 13, the centers will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday until further notice. The centers will be closed on Sundays.

Anyone who needs reasonable accommodations when visiting the centers may request them by calling the FEMA helpline at 800-621-3362 or TTY 800-462-7585.

The centers are in the following locations:

Forrest County:

  1. E. Roy Community Center
    300 E. 5th Street
    Hattiesburg, MS 39401
  2. Petal Civic Center
    712A South Main Street
    Petal, MS 39465

Lamar County:

The disaster recovery center at the Lamar County Community Shelter, 99 Central Industrial Row, Purvis, MS 39475, will remain open Wednesday, Feb. 8 to Friday Feb. 10 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and on Saturday, Feb. 11 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The center will open noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 12, its final day.
