44 CFR 201.4(c)(2)(i) – The risk assessment shall include an overview of the type of all natural hazards that can affect the State.
Introduction
The State of Mississippi is vulnerable to a wide variety of natural and man-made hazards that threaten life and property. The publication Hazard Identification/ Hazard Analysis developed by Mississippi Emergency Management Agency addresses a wide variety of hazards. The Federal Emergency Management Agency has ranked Mississippi as the sixth most vulnerable State in the Nation due to risks from hurricanes, tornados, and other hazards such as nuclear power plants. The following are the hazards that are included in this hazard mitigation plan and some that will not be considered at this time:
