Free Tetanus Vaccinations Available in Five Counties Affected by Severe Weather

Jackson – The Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) reminds all storm-affected residents that a tetanus vaccination is recommended if it’s been 10 years or more since your last tetanus vaccination. In the event of a puncture wound or wound contaminated by floodwater, individuals should consult a healthcare provider.

Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis) vaccinations are available at all county health departments and are FREE in the following federally declared counties impacted by severe weather:

  • Forrest
  • Lamar
  • Wayne
  • Marion
  • Lawrence

To locate a county health department near you, visit the MSDH website at or call us toll-free at 1-866-HLTHY4U (1-866-458-4948). Follow MSDH on Facebook and Twitter at
