Homochitto National Forest Horse Trail, Rec Areas Closed

The Homochitto National Forest has closed the Brushy Creek Equestrian Trail, Okhissa Lake Recreation Area, and Clear Springs Recreation Area because of severe flooding from Hurricane Isaac.

At this time, the areas are closed to the public through September 14, according to Bruce Prud’homme, Homochitto District Ranger.

“Safety remains and is always a high priority for us. Closing these areas is necessary for public safety,” said Prud’homme. “We will continue to assess the situation.”
