Update for March 4 Severe Weather Event



PEARL, Miss. – At the time of this release, MEMA has received official damage reports from Madison, Rankin, Scott and Newton Counties as a result of today’s severe weather. Currently, no injuries have been reported.

Preliminary reports show roughly:

  • 60 homes damaged in Madison County
  • 25 homes damaged in Rankin County
  • Five homes damaged in Scott County

MEMA provided 50 tarps to Madison County and 50 tarps to Scott County.

These damage reports serve only as an initial assessment from the county emergency management offices and through our self-reporting tool. These numbers could change as MEMA receives additional reports and conducts further assessments.

Residents are encouraged to report damage to homes or businesses to their county emergency management office. A directory of all the offices is online at https://www.msema.org/county-ema/.
