State to Begin Closing Water Distribution Sites

Pearl, Miss.- As the city of Jackson’s boil water alert has been lifted, the State will begin closing its water distribution sites. The Mississippi State Fairgrounds site will close Thursday, September 15, at 6:30 pm.

“Due to the State Fairground’s prior, scheduled commitments, we will close this site first. We are grateful to Commissioner Gipson for his support during this water crisis,” says MEMA Executive Director Stephen McCraney.

Bottled water will be distributed Friday and Saturday at these sites:

Davis Road Park

2300 Davis Road

Terry, MS 39170

Metro Center Mall

3645 Highway 80

Jackson, MS

Smith Wills Stadium

1200 Lakeland Dr

Jackson, MS

The three remaining sites will close Saturday at 6:30 pm.

The state of Mississippi distributed over 11 million water bottles to residents during the Jackson water crisis. We appreciate the Mississippi National Guard and all partners for supporting this mission.
